Pumpkin Patch Party at Sweetberry Farm!

Today we headed out to Sweetberry Farm for a Pumpkin Patch Party with our playgroup. It was really fun. More so that I was expecting. I mean, when my very uncooperative 2 year old tells me he had a "great time at da punkin pasch" before we even make it out of the parking lot, you know it was a hit! The weather wasn't terribly hot and we were blessed with a breeze. I intentionally scheduled this on a teacher work day so that Miss A could come along. She got to hang with her girls all day and they had a blast!

Our "farmer" (so weird to call her that all morning) first took us on a hayride.

We drove around the back side or a corn field which turned out to be a maze. We were booted off the tractor and into the field and told to find our way out. Well about 10 minutes later Farmer Raven appeared and asked if we needed help. HA! This was only shortly after Little J slapped his hands down dramatically declaring "we'll never get out of here"! So after a point in the right direction, we were out. The girls did a "we're free" dance.

We then headed over for some wagon races. The kids were to take their wagon, race down to the pumpkin pile, grab one, and head back.

Little J decided that he would skip the wagon pulling hassles and just follow big sister down. Thinking ahead, he grabbed one with a "long poker" so he could hold it easier.

The kids then got to paint their pumpkins and take them home. (And of course, all the paint flaked off promptly.)

Finally they fed the animals, had lunch, posed for more of the paparazzi, aka moms, and topped the day off with some home made ice cream! YUM!
